I will soon have a little more spare time to get back to drawing, and I am really looking forward to it. My goal with drawing, just as it is with my photography, is to expand my breadth of subject matter beyond the micro details of flowers and birds. I have drawn a few landscapes, but I didn’t like them much and they took too long. Hopefully, I will get to the point where I can quickly sketch something I’m looking at in real life and then fill in the details later from my mind. Until then, here are ones you may have seen already.
This is one of my drawings from Pataconi’s many art classes in high school. It was originally in pencil, I obviously editited it a bit digitally. I was known in that class for being fantastically slow at getting assignments finished, and I am still true to that habit today. My goal is to let myself go a bit more and move with the flow of the work instead of paying attention to every detail (and also worrying about every detail) which is why, I assume, things take me so long. Hmm. Well, at least I have proof that I do finish things in the end.
