The Garden of the Mosinee Tuckers

I enjoy parties as much as the next person, but I enjoy garden parties way more than that next person, especially when I happen to have my camera along.  Socializing is fun, eating and drinking are sure fun indeed, but strolling and looking at the colors all around is the most funnest of all.

What words can’t put into pictures, here are the pictures to be viewed without words.  Hey, I never said I was a writer, just go look at the photos already!  Thanks to the Aunt and Uncle that have taken such an interest in their surroundings!

Luck

This little set of wings landed for about three seconds, licked a flower or two, and took off right quick.  Luck was on my side, however, and I get to see the butterfly in all its detail for the rest of time.

Five At a Time – Hoppers

A lot of the time, seeing the same thing from a variety of angles can be useful.  You get to look all the way around, side to side, top to, well, other side.  This little toad is a pretty good example.  From the top you see stripes, the sides you see spots, and from the front you see the deep speckled eyes.  He chilled on my hand for a while, then the kid that found him put him back in the hidy-hole he hopped out of.

I’m glad I got to take a look!

Five At a Time – Merganser Males

I love water, I love birds, and I love birds that love water.

Especially when they stop preening themselves long enough to “smile” for the camera.

Five At a Time – Flowers

We walked a lot during our week trek on Isle Royale, which made birding a near impossibility except at one camp site where there were tons of ducks (more on that later).  Flowers, however, are easy to spot along the trail, and I got fairly good at choosing my camera settings, framing the shot, and taking the picture in less than three seconds (so as to not fall too far behind my fellow hikers who kept on trudging forward during the photographic process).  Here are a few fast snaps I managed to get of flowers I saw for no more than 10 seconds each.

Isle Royale, Five At a Time, in No Particular Order

This may take a while..  Enjoy!
